TOTTENHAM 3 REAL MADRID 1

Tottenham booked their place in the Champions League last 16 with a memorable win over holders Real Madrid at Wembley.

Tottenham qualified for the Champions League knockout phase with a stunning 3-1 victory over Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Two goals from Dele Alli and one from Christian Eriksen gave Mauricio Pochettino's side a fully deserved triumph at Wembley over the holders, who were well short of their best and looked vulnerable to every Spurs counter-attack.

Napoli 2-4 Manchester City

Sergio Aguero became Manchester City's all-time leading goalscorer in a 4-2 win at Napoli that saw them qualify for the Champions League knockout phase with two games to spare.

Aguero underscored his name in the City history books with the winner on 69 minutes - his 178th goal for the club, one more than Eric Brook.

Lorenzo Insigne had given Napoli a deserved 21st-minute lead only for Nicolas Otamendi (34) and John Stones (48) to turn the game around.

Jorginho drew Napoli level from the penalty spot on 62 minutes but further goals from Aguero and Raheem Sterling secured City's passage to the last 16.

LIVERPOOL 3 MARIBOR 0

Jurgen Klopp's Reds are in control of Group E after a battling 3-0 home win against Maribor in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Liverpool took a step towards the Champions League knockout stages with a hard-fought 3-0 win at home to Maribor on Wednesday that sent them top of Group E with two games to play.
The Reds had beaten Maribor 7-0 in the reverse game a fortnight ago but Jurgen Klopp's men found the Slovenian champions much harder to open up at Anfield.
