AWCON 2016: Nigeria Falcons Beat Kenya 4-0, to face South Africa In Semi Finals
The Super Falcons have confirmed their place in the semi finals of the ongoing Africa Women’s Nations Cup following their comprehensive victory over Kenya on Saturday.
Though the Super Falcons could not replicate the big win they recorded against Mali, they did enough to beat the Kenyans 4-0 to set up a semi final date with Bayana Bayana of South Africa.
Ngozi Okobi got the curtain raiser in Saturday’s final Group B clash, scoring with a thunderous strike from over 25 yards.
Faith Ikidi doubled the lead for Nigeria as she headed in the second goal from a free kick as Nigeria enjoyed a 2-0 lead at half time.
Arsenal Ladies forward, Asisat Oshoala, who has scored in all of the Falcons games so far; scored her sixth goal of the competition on Saturday as the Falcons went three goals up.
Desire Oparanozie put the icing on the cake for Nigeria as she netted the fourth goal of the night.
