Arsenal 0-1 Man City:
Raheem Sterling keeps Premier League leaders on track. Pep Guardiola's side continue march towards Premier League title; Raheem Sterling's early header proves decisive; City 10 points ahead of Leicester at top
Manchester City's win over Arsenal in the Premier League stretched their winning run to 18 games with a 1- 0 victory at Arsenal.
Raheem Sterling scored the game's only goal of the game. Sterling leapt to meet a Riyad Mahrez cross with just two minutes on the clock and might have had a hat-trick during a strikingly mismatched opening period that suggested another emphatic afternoon's work for Pep Guardiola's side.
A second proved elusive but though Arsenal, whose European prospects take a blow, grew into the contest, they were unable to punish City's second-half lethargy in attack and found Ruben Dias commanding again in defence.
City remain 10 points clear of second-placed Manchester United, who they face next month, while Arsenal stay in mid-table, 11 points off fourth spot and six behind sixth-placed Liverpool.
Man Utd 3-1 Newcastle:
Dan James strike and Bruno Fernandes penalty keeps pressure on Magpies
Manchester United move back to second in the Premier League; Allan Saint-Maximin cancels out Marcus Rashford opener but Newcastle stay three points above the relegation zone.
Manchester United collected their first Premier League victory in three games as Bruno Fernandes' penalty secured a 3-1 win over Newcastle at Old Trafford.
Following draws with Everton and West Brom, United had fallen 10 points adrift of leaders Manchester City, which was extended further on Sunday when Pep Guardiola's side won at Arsenal.
Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock when he found the near post (30) but Newcastle deservedly levelled after Allan Saint-Maximin's half volley flashed beyond David de Gea six minutes later.
United looked lethargic following their Europa League exertions in the opening period, but Dan James struck (57) to restore their advantage before Fernandes' penalty with 15 minutes remaining settled matters.
The result enabled Manchester United to move into second place again following Leicester's win at Aston Villa while Newcastle stay in 17th, three points above the relegation zone.
West Ham 2-1 Tottenham:
Hammers move fourth in Premier League
Jesse Lingard send West Ham into the top four with derby win over Tottenham; Lucas Moura halved deficit to spark late comeback but woodwork denies Spurs twice in dramatic finale at London Stadium.
Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard fired West Ham into the top four as the Hammers withstood a late Tottenham fightback to hang on for a 2-1 derby victory at the London Stadium.
West Ham were ahead inside five minutes thanks to the returning Antonio's fifth goal against Spurs, before loanee Lingard continued his fine form with the Hammers' second early in the second half.
It was the first time a Jose Mourinho side had conceded in the opening five minutes of both halves in a Premier League game and there was no way back for Spurs, as the frame of the West Ham goal thwarted a valiant late rally.
Lucas Moura headed in from a corner to give Spurs a lifeline before substitute Gareth Bale's stunning volley cannoned off the bar and Heung-Min Son's late effort deflected off the post as David Moyes secured his first victory against Mourinho in the Premier League at the 16th attempt.
The victory sees momentum continue to build behind West Ham's European charge, with the Hammers moving into fourth, nine points ahead of rivals Spurs, who stay ninth after losing five of their last six Premier League games.
