TOTTENHAM 2-7 BAYERN

Gnabry scored FOUR times for Bayern Munich as the Bundesliga champions fired SEVEN goals past Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the Champions League.

Sold by Arsenal and not good enough for West Brom, but this Bayern Munich star got the last laugh against Tottenham.

Serge Gnabry took home the match ball after his four goals.

Arsenal fans can’t believe they spent £72m ($132m) on Nicolas Pepe while selling Serge Gnabry for just £5m ($8.25m) after the German ran riot against rivals Spurs on Tuesday night.

Gnabry scored FOUR times for Bayern Munich as the Bundesliga champions fired SEVEN goals past Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the Champions League.

The Germany international struggled during his four years at Arsenal, making only 10 appearances and scoring just the once before being loaned out to West Bromwich Albion for the season in 2015-16.

However, he only played once for the then Premier League strugglers, as then manager Tony Pulis decided Gnabry wasn't good enough.

"Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn’t been for me, at the moment, at that level to play games," he said in 2016.

"He’s come from academy football and has not played much league football. Does academy football really prepare players for league football? And we’re talking about Premier League football here."

Former teammate Hector Bellerin made light of this on social media while Gnabry later tweeted: "North London is RED!!!" which won him even more praise from fans of his former club.

Meanwhile, club record signing Pepe was the worst player on the pitch as Arsenal drew 1-1 with Premier League strugglers Manchester United on Monday.

The Ivory Coast international cost a stunning £72m when he joined the Gunners from Lille over the summer.

While Gnabry was sold by Arsene Wenger to Werder Bremen for just £5m in 2016.

The winger, 24, is now one of the best in the business following a masterclass against Tottenham.

ARSENAL FANS SPEAK

And Arsenal fans can't believe they have managed to downgrade while effectively handing out £67m in the process.

One wrote on Twitter: “I have not forgiven Wenger for selling Gnabry. That boy is something else.

“Why are we so unlucky with players? He’s honestly everything we want Pepe to be.”

Another said: “Arsenal once had Gnabry and let him go and now have Pepe. Such a massive step down.”

REAL MADRID 2-2 CLUB BRUGGE

— Former champions escape with draw

REAL MADRID avoided another European horror show against Club Brugge, but were held to a 2-2 draw.

Los Blancos found themselves 2-0 down at half time, but pulled one back with a Sergio Ramos header which appeared to be offside but was awarded by VAR.

And Casemiro then headed home late on to earn the former champions a point.

Zinedine Zidane's side were poor again at the Bernabeu and were almost undone by two bizarre goals from 21-year-old Emmanuel Dennis.

The Nigerian's first came as he miscontrolled Percy Tau's cross past a wrongfooted Thibaut Courtois and into the net - initially disallowed for offside but awarded after a long video assistant referee delay.

For the second, Dennis stumbled into the box and chipped Courtois - who was replaced by Alphonse Areola at half-time - despite almost losing his footing.

Captain Sergio Ramos responded for Real in the second half with a header from Karim Benzema's cross, which was ruled out for offside but overturned by the VAR.

After Bruges captain Ruud Vormer was sent off for two bookings, Toni Kroos crossed for Casemiro to head in the equaliser from the resulting free-kick.

Real - beaten 3-0 by Paris St-Germain in their opening game - remain bottom of Group A.

CITY 2-0 DINAMO ZAGREB

Manchester City had Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden to thank as they sealed a tight 2-0 Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday evening.

With no goals by half-time, Sterling came off the bench to end City's frustration at the Etihad.

Dinamo had held out for over an hour in Manchester but were undone as Riyad Mahrez got in behind and picked out Sterling, who prodded in from close range.

Phil Foden made the game safe late on to secure City's second group-stage win.

Pep Guardiola's side seemed to do everything but score in a one-sided first half at the Etihad Stadium but it took the second-half introduction of Sterling to break the deadlock.

The England forward struck in the 66th minute to put City on course for top spot in Group C before Phil Foden added a second in injury time.

After 19 attempts on goal few could quibble with the result but City's lack of a cutting edge, although key man Kevin De Bruyne was missing with a groin injury, might be of concern to Guardiola.

The City boss himself did not have a quiet night as he was booked in the second half for protesting about a refereeing decision. That came after City had also been frustrated by the VAR system before the break, denied a penalty for handball.

City have had little luck with VAR since it was introduced and another penalty appeal was turned down late on.

Most of the noise in the ground came from Dinamo's small but lively contingent of around 1,300 fans. They even took their tops off en masse at one point, so much were they enjoying the occasion, but all the good play came from City.

JUVE 3-0 LEVERKUSEN

Juventus took control of the Champions League Group D destiny by brushing aside Bayer Leverkusen in Turin.

On a night when Atletico Madrid won 2-0 away at Lokomotiv Moscow, Juve joined the Spanish side at the top of the table on four points.

Gonzalo Higuain pounced on Jonathan Tah's mistake to fire in the first, with Federico Bernardeschi sweeping in the second.

Cristiano Ronaldo raced through to get the third late on.

For a long while, this was a low-key affair, especially in the period in the first half after Higuain's 17th-minute opener.

Tah failed to deal with a ball from the right, heading it into the path of Higuain, with the Argentine taking one touch before producing a clinical finish.

Leverkusen, who lost captain Lars Bender to injury in the warm-up, had plenty of the ball, but lacked the guile to unlock the characteristically solid Juve defence.

And, when the hosts were able to counter, the German side suffered bouts of panic at the back, not helped by the eccentricities of goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

Still, Hradecky played his part to keep his side in it when Juventus went through the gears in the second half, invigorating the home crowd as they did so.

Twice the Leverkusen keeper denied Ronaldo, first with a low save to a shot from 12 yards out, then by smothering a close-range effort when the Portuguese was left alone in the box.

In between, though, Hradecky was powerless to prevent Bernardeschi netting the second.

After good link-up play between Higuain and Ronaldo, Ronaldo failed to connect with a cut-back from the byeline, only for Bernardeschi to arrive behind him and effectively end the contest.

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey arrived as a substitute just before Leverkusen's last clear chance, when Paulinho's lob went over onrushing Juve keeper Wojciech Szczesny, but also beyond the bar.

It looked as though Ronaldo would end the evening frustrated, only for the prolific frontman to find space between Leverkusen defenders, latching on to a through ball and finishing through the legs of Hradecky.
