LA LIGA Match Results: Real 2-1 Gatafe, Barca1-1 Atletico, other results

Ronaldo missed an open goal before smashing in a late winner to collect his first La Liga goal of the season - and his 21st goal in 13 appearances against the Madrid rivals.

Karim Benzema had given Zinedine Zidane's side the lead in the first half when he capitalised on a defensive mix-up to smash into the bottom corner.

Jorge Molina hit back for Getafe in the second half as they looked to snatch the three points before Ronaldo's 85th minute winner.

The victory stretched Real's winning streak on the road to 13 matches - a La Liga record.

BARCA VS ATLETICO

Luis Suarez scored an 82nd-minute equaliser as La Liga leaders Barcelona maintained their unbeaten start to the season against Atletico Madrid.

Saul Niguez had put the hosts ahead on 21 minutes with a 25-yard curling drive into the bottom corner.

Lionel Messi hit the post with a free-kick early in the second half, before Suarez connected with Sergi Roberto's cross to head in at the far post.

Centre-back Aritz Elustondo followed with a looping, deflected goal just four minutes later to settle the affair and hand Alaves their fourth home defeat from four this term, having scraped barely a quarter of possession, per

Vesga was the hero for Athletic in their meeting against early title contenders Sevilla, who were handed just their second loss of the campaign after the 24-year-old picked a prime occasion to notch his league breakthrough, per La Liga:

The midfielder showed superb spatial awareness to chip goalkeeper Sergio Rico with the outside of his boot from close quarters, capitalising on the stopper's quick rush to arch a shot up and over both him and the line.

The Lions' first win in more than a month pushed them up to ninth in the standings, while Sevilla now have one win in their last three and dropped down to fourth as a result.
