ARSENAL Olivier Giroud scored his 100th Arsenal goal as the Gunners cruised to a mostly convincing 4-2 won over BATE Borisov in Belarus.
Jack Wilshere pulled the strings as Theo Walcott netted a brace and Rob Holding scored his first Arsenal goal with Arsene Wenger rewarded for taking an experienced side on his 2,800-mile round trip.
Twice BATE trimmed the Gunners’ lead as Mirko Ivanic and Mikhail Gordeichuk struck either side of half-time. On both occasions, they profited from less-than-exemplary goalkeeping from David Ospina but Belarus’ most successful side might feel they could have done more to test Arsenal’s uninspiring defence.
EVERTON
A poor pass from Ashley Williams allowed Anton Maglica to cross for Adrian Sardinero to give Cypriot side Apollon Limassol a shock lead at Goodison Park, but a similarly disastrous ball from Hector Yuste let Wayne Rooney slip in at the other end to draw Everton level.
Substitute Nikola Vlasic latched on to Gylfi Sigurdsson's flick to fire home for the Toffees in the second half, who looked set to see out the game comfortably when Valentin Roberge was sent off for a stamp on Dominic Calvert-Lewin's back in the 86th minute.
AC MILAN
After bagging a hat-trick last time out against Austria Vienna, Andre Silva continued his rich vein of goalscoring form in the UEFA Europa League when he broke the deadlock for AC Milan against Rijeka:
The Rossoneri doubled their lead after the break through Matteo Musacchio, but Rijeka sensationally equalised thanks to goals for Boadu Acosty and Josip Elez in the 84th and 90th minutes.
Cutrone came to the rescue for the hosts four minutes into added time when he deftly finished Fabio Borini's floated ball.
OTHERS
Elsewhere, Bertrand Traore's goal was not enough for Lyon to beat Atalanta as Alejandro Gomez cancelled out the opener to ensure a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
