MAX ALLEGRI has verbally agreed a deal to take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal next season, Sunday Express reports.

Allegri has been locked in talks with Arsenal since the end of last year and has now emerged as the man who will take over if Arsene Wenger leaves the club at the end of the season.

The Juventus boss is now waiting for Wenger to make up his mind if he wants to sign a two-year extension to his contract that is on the table.

The Gunners board are anxious for an answer from the Frenchman, 67, and would like him to tell them about his future plans by the end of the month.

Allegri, is set to leave Juventus after falling out with a number of senior players and has made no secret of his desire to work in the Premier League.
Allegri has already made a shortlist with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic one of his targets when moving to Arsenal.

He has already been asked for a short-list of players that he would like to target and has passed them onto the Arsenal board who will green light any deals.

One of the players that he is keen on signing is Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic whom he targeted to join Juve last summer.

Lazio want the Serbian international, 22, to pen a new deal but he has told them that he won’t be holding any discussions until the summer.
