Crystal Palace beat Watford 2-1 in FA Cup semi final, to play Man U in final

Crystal Palace are through to English FA Cup final after beating Wattford 2-1 in the Semi final. Palace will now meet Manchester United in the final. Manchester United defeated Everton by the same margin in a dramatic late injury time win.

For the first time since 1990, Crystal Palace are through to an FA Cup final. The final will take place at Wembley on Saturday, May 21.

Connor Wickham header put Palace back in front after Troy Deeney equaliser for Wattford.

Yannick Bolasie had taken the lead for Crystal Palace after only six minutes. Troy Deeney scored the equaliser shortly after half-time with a header but Connor Wickham's pinpoint header minutes later restored Palace's lead.

Palace joined Louis van Gaal's team in the final with a 2-1 triumph over Watford on Sunday as Connor Wickham's header proved decisive after Yannick Bolasie's opener was cancelled out by Troy Deeney.

United have met the Eagles on four occasions in the competition, twice emerging victorious in a replay after drawing the first game. Famously, Alex Ferguson lifted his first trophy as Reds boss in 1990 when Lee Martin scored the only goal at Wembley, five days after a 3-3 thriller.

Five years later, the teams drew 2-2 at Villa Park before goals by central defenders Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister earned a 2-0 triumph at the Midlands venue at the second time of asking.
