Real Madrid eye Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois but Chelsea plan to fend off transfer interests

Back-to-his-best Belgian can expect a significant increase on the £200,000-a-week deal he signed two years ago with Chelsea.

Chelsea are ready to give Eden Hazard an improved contract to keep him away from Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are said to be planning a double swoop in the summer for Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, according to the Guardian.

The La Liga giants have made no secret about their interest in both players in the past, and are expected to ramp up their efforts to sign the pair in the next transfer window.

The report claims that Alvaro Morata may be used in any Hazard deal, whilst Madrid are confident they will be able to convince Courtois to leave London.

Real Madrid are in the hunt for a marquee signing following their transfer ban being served, and think that Eden Hazard could be the key.

However, the forward is currently in discussions over a new contract with Chelsea, according to the Guardian's report.

No fee has yet been touted by the report, but it does claim that both Alvaro Morta and James Rodriguez could be used in any deals as they are likely to leave the Bernabeu in the summer anyway.

The Premier League's champions-elect, Chelsea, who are also keen to tie down keeper Thibaut Courtois , plan to reward the Belgian forward's sparkling form and performances this season.

Hazard signed a new £200,000-a-week contract two years ago, but is likely to be offered a significant improvement on those terms to make sure he stays at Stamford Bridge.

But Chelsea are confident he will stay — and he has let it be known that he is happy at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte.

The challenge of the Champions League next season is also significant.

Courtois is also set to join the big pay-league with a £200,000-a-week deal.

The West Londoners will also step up their interest in Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk this summer, hoping to beat Manchester City to his signature.
