Anthony Martial fired Manchester United into the FA Cup final with a strike deep in injury time.

Manchester United qualify for the FA Cup final in the most dramatic fashion imaginable, with Anthony Martial scoring their winner in the final seconds of added time. It was heartbreaking for Everton’s fans and players, who had put on a remarkable show in the second half after being over-run in the first 45 minutes.
Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring for Manchester United, only for Everton to flick the switch and grab an unlikely equaliser courtesy of a second-half own goal from Chris Smalling. Before he did the honours for the Toffees, a missed penalty was one of five or six splendid scoring opportunities spurned by Romelu Lukaku.

It was Anthony Martial who stepped up with a late, late winner to leave Everton’s players looking shell-shocked.

On balance, Manchester United were the better team, but Everton missed no end of chances and will be understandably gutted.

The outstanding performers:

Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney, David De Gea, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingaard and Gerard Deulofeu.

United will play Crystal Palace or Watford in the FA Cup final on 21 May.

As it stands, Anthony Martial takes Manchester United past Everton to final at the last

A moment’s hesitation by Phil Jagielka allowed Anthony Martial to score in stoppage time as Manchester United beat Everton 2-1 in their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley

Everton’s players look distraught as Anthony Martial starts and finishes the move that will surely win this semi-final for his team.

Surging through the middle, he pounced on a wayward pass from Phil Jagielka, burst into the penalty area and rifled the ball past Joel Robles. He wheeled away, leaped the advertising hoarding and went to celebrate with Manchester United’s fans ... earning himself a booking.
